Murphy is located at the junction of US-64, US-74, and US-19 in Cherokee County, approximately 110 miles southwest of Asheville and 90 miles northeast of Chattanooga, Tennessee. From Atlanta, the drive is roughly 90 miles north via US-76 and US-64. From Knoxville, Tennessee, expect about 90 miles via US-411 South and US-64 West.

The casino is located on Casino Parkway off US-74/US-19, clearly signed from all major approaches into Murphy. Free self-parking is available across surface lots and the new 1,300-space parking deck. Murphy occupies a scenic stretch of the Valley River valley, with the Hiwassee River joining just west of town. The area offers notable outdoor recreation within a short drive of the casino. The Nantahala Outdoor Center’s whitewater outpost on the Nantahala River — one of the most popular whitewater destinations in the eastern United States — is roughly 30 miles northeast. The Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, preserving one of the largest old-growth forest stands in the eastern US, is about 25 miles north off US-129.

Downtown Murphy, a short drive from the resort, is a functional small-town commercial district with local restaurants, antique shops, and the Cherokee County Historical Museum, which houses artifacts from the region’s Cherokee and European settlement history. The Murphy River Walk provides a pleasant trail along the Hiwassee River corridor. Nottely River Valley Vineyards, located a few miles outside of town, offers wine tasting in a mountain setting.
